Learn To Skate

 At The Westchester Skating Academy, we are committed to fostering the development of every skater that enters our facility. The "Learn to Skate" program teaches the sport of skating to enthusiast from three years old through adulthood.

Classes meet weekly and the fee includes your skate rental and passes to practice on any Public Session during the semester.

Current Semester:  March 6th - May 7th, 2010.

Next Semester Starts:  May 8th - June 27th, 2010.

 

  • Class Lesson Once A Week for 9 weeks. - 30 minutes. 
  • Cost is $198.00 - Payable at the beginning of each semester.
  • 10% Discount for the second family member or Greenburgh residents with ID card or IBM employees with ID at time or registration. ( No Exceptions)
  • Maximum of 12 Students Per Class - Minimum of 3 students per class. (consecutive levels may be combined if less than 3 student register)
  • Rental Skates Included
  • CANCELLATIONS OR SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL BE UPDATED AND POSTED ON THE WEBSTIE
  • FREE PUBLIC SESSION - On the Day of class.
  • COUPON BOOK - to be used during the semester. Coupon books are available at the registration table on the first two weeks of classes only AND EXPIRE AT END OF SEMESTER.
  • CERTIFICATES - Certificates of achievement are presented to each student at the end of the semester.
  • REGISTRATION - $15.00 per year. All students must join the United States Figure Skating Association. This qualifies you for testing, shows and competitions.
  • EARLY REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED

    WSA Philosophy

    Policies and Suggestions

    • MAKE-UP POLICY: THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP CLASSES PERMITTED
    • REFUND POLICY: NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS WILL BE OUR SNOW PLOW SAM 1 PROGRAM. ANY SNOW PLOW SAM 1 CANCELING AFTER THE  SECOND CLASS WILL BE CHARGED A $15.00 PROCESSING FEE AND $22.00 PER CLASS FEE. AFTER THE SECOND CLASS THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.
    • LEVEL EVALUATION: DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF CLASS OUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF WILL EVALUATE SKATERS BASED ON AGE AND ABILITY TO ENSURE THEY ARE IN THE CORRECT CLASS.
    • HELMETS: ARE OPTIONAL BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR TOTS AND BEGINNERS.
    • SKATES: SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE BUT SNUG; SKATES SHOULD BE SLIGHTLY SMALLER THAN SHOE SIZE.
    • CLOTHING: WARM, LAYERED, COMFORTABLE CLOTHING (SWEATERS & SWEATSHIRTS ARE PREFERABLE TO BULKY JACKETS) AND GLOVES
